It is of the cobra family even though its characteristics are of a viper. It can grow to be 100 centimeters long. It is a thick snake that can move really fast, thus being like a viper. This snake is a solitary snake that does not prefer to be in groups. It is a diurnal creature. It eats mice, lizards, and anything that can fit in its mouth. It gets its food by using its tail. While in a pile of pine needles its tail looks like a worm so when a creature comes it snaps and bam! Food. Its gestation period is 2-3 months. They breed once a year. They have 2-3 babies per litter. Its immature form is called snakelet. Some interesting facts are: It has a little cover above their eye which its purpose is unknown. It also has a small tail used to catch food. It has a triangular head no one knows it’s use. It is part of a large family known as adders. It lives in New Guinea and the top of Australia. |
